Letter to the Editor: The right choice,

David Farmer is my choice for Mosquito Control Commissioner, endorsed by the Naples Daily News.

I’ve known David many years, being involved with our civic Groups and many Community Boards.

For the past three years David has been our Mosquito Control Commissioner, he has worked to become more knowledgeable about specific diseases spread by mosquitoes, through study and research. Attending numerous National Conferences, going to Washington DC, educating the House of Representatives on specific Legislative issues impacting control on our behalf.

Collier County is fortunate to have David at the helm, because of him we have a mosquito control program that is second to none in the World.

We have a West Nile Virus crisis making its way through the Gulf States, We have Dengue Fever in the Keyes, these diseases are spread only by mosquitos, we have 70 species of mosquitos breeding in Florida.

Having the correct person at the helm of our Department is vitally important to our health, the health of our children, people are dying around the Country from mosquito born illnesses. A wrong vote on your ballot could mean the difference in Collier County.

David’s opponent in this race is a 20 year old school student, who has never held a job, and is still living at home. Someone I would never trust my health and life to.

Please think about these things as you cast your votes, David Farmer means proven Professional Credibility, Experience, and the continued safety of our Community from Mosquito born illness.
