Cape Coral man critically injured in morning crash on I-75

A Cape Coral man is in critical condition after crashing into the center median of Interstate 75 in Lee County on Tuesday morning.

Around 8:40 a.m., Clarence Nauer, 46, was driving south on the interstate around mile marker 122 when he drifted into a van in the left lane, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers. Naeur then went back to the center lane and the other driver, Allen Kenter, 46, of Fort Myers, drove onto the shoulder.

Kenter told troopers Nauer then went back into the left lane and struck the center median, colliding with the cable barrier. Troopers said it was likely Nauer was suffering from an unknown medical condition.

Nauer was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Kenter also had minor injuries from the crash, according to a report.
