After learning her estranged husband had moved in with another woman, a North Naples woman is accused of breaking into their apartment and destroying their clothing, according to Collier County sheriff's deputies.

On Tuesday morning, deputies were called to the 2700 block of Fountain View Circle, where they found an apartment with the bedroom window broken. The resident told deputies she lived there with her boyfriend, who had been separated from his wife for a few years.

The resident said she suspected her boyfriend's wife of stealing a PlayStation, some makeup and a small frog statue. She later noticed their clothing hanging in the closet had been sprayed with bleach and slashed with scissors or a knife.

The glass in a picture frame also was broken in the living room, an arrest report said.

Deputies approached the wife, Maria Counselo Gallo-Hernandez, 24, at an apartment she shared with her mother on the 5300 block of Grand Cypress Circle. Inside a closet, they found a PlayStation, a computer and a photograph of the girlfriend, reports said.

Gallo-Hernandez told deputies her husband had been telling her he wanted to get back together, but she later found out he had moved in with his girlfriend.

Gallo-Hernandez faces charges of burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief. She was released from the jail Tuesday after posting $12,500 in bond, according to jail records.
