— Twenty-one flights at Southwest Florida International Airport were canceled Wednesday because of Hurricane Sandy.

That's a decrease from the 57 flights canceled Tuesday because of the massive storm that killed at least 50 people and caused more than 8 million households to lose power.

The canceled flights are to and from New York-area airports - LaGuardia, John F. Kennedy, White Plains and Newark, said Vicki Moreland, a Southwest Florida airport spokeswoman.

Flights to and from the Fort Myers airfield have resumed for Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Boston, she said.
