Vehicle pursuit in East Naples ends with DUI arrest
Collier County sheriff's deputies used stop sticks to stop a driver who they say would not pull over in an East Naples apartment complex after driving on the wrong side of the road.
Calvin Hart, 26, of the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue North, Naples, was charged with DUI, fleeing from marked patrol car with emergency sirens activated, driving on a suspended license and driving a vehicle with the wrong license plate attached.
Hart was driving east on Davis Boulevard, approaching the intersection with Radio Road, when he cut through a Shell gas station parking lot to avoid a traffic light and began driving down the wrong side of Radio Road, according to reports.
As a deputy alerted Hart to pull over, he pulled into the Tuscan Isle apartment complex and continued to drive. He eventually headed back out to Radio Road, where other deputies had set up the stop sticks.
A passenger in the vehicle, Cameron Hart, 24, of the 4700 block of Verity Lane, was charged with resisting a law enforcement officer without violence.
Deputies reported finding 30 beer cans in the cab of Hart's white truck and another 30 beer cans in the bed of the truck, which was covered with a tarp.
