Domestic violence arrests

Ayla Akel, 42, of the 27000 block of Carl Circle, Bonita Springs, was arrested Sunday by Collier deputies at on the 500 block of Poinciana Court. She is accused of smashing a man’s window, ripping his shirt and slapping him on the neck. She faces an additional charge of burglary.

Javier Alvarez, 24, of the 500 block of North 19th Street, Immokalee, was arrested Sunday by Collier deputies at the 600 block of El Paso Trail. He is accused of punching a woman in the face.

Quintin J. Mathis, 25, of the 2800 block of Bayview Drive, East Naples, was arrested Sunday by Collier deputies at his home. He is accused of pushing a woman on a bed.

DUI arrests

Steven Allen Birnbaum, 50, of Freeland, Mich., was arrested Sunday by Collier deputies on the 13000 block of Vanderbilt Drive.

Michael Chester Carter, 40, of Talcott, W. Va., was arrested Sunday by Collier deputies at the intersection of 43rd Lane Southwest and Sunset Boulevard. He faces additional charges of resisting an officer without violence, driving while license suspended and fleeing a law enforcement officer in a marked unit with emergency equipment activated.
