Marco Eagles blockers sealed off the way for Tyler Greshamn to ramble down field for a touchdown.
Only lightning could save Evangelical Christian, but that still came too late, as the Marco Island Charter Middle School blasted them, 40-0 on Thursday.
"I was surprised by the ease of the win," coach Mike Vanderjagt said. "They have a good football program at their school."
By halftime the Eagles, 2-0, led 40-0. Before the second half could start lightning struck in the area, expecting to cause a long delay so the game was stopped.
Will Hurst scored twice, once on a rush and the other on defense when he stripped the ball from an Evangelical runner and ran in for a score.
Tyler Gresham racked up two TDs and played well on defense.
Quarterback Jay Vanderjagt completed five of six passes for 152 yards. Tristan Sonthanax caught four of them for 141 yards and two touchdowns.
Gresham, Colin Bragenzer, Zach West and Josh Wagner, with a pass interception, led the Eagles on defense.
The Eagles travel to Canterbury School in Fort Myers for a 6 p.m. game on Thursday.
