FORT MYERS — Cancer survivor Ann Romney is in Fort Myers to take a private tour of the Regional Cancer Center. The wife of Mitt Romney is in Florida as her husband tries to capture the state in November.

Ann Romney's choice to tour the cancer center was a personal one. She battled breast cancer in 2008.

The afternoon event is not open to the public.

Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, will be in Southwest Florida on Thursday.

Ann Romney will tour the Lee Memorial Regional Cancer Center at 11:55 a.m. The Regional Cancer Center is located at 8931 Colonial Center Drive.

Mrs. Romney has been campaigning for her husband this week in the Sunshine State. She was in Pinellas County on Wednesday and in Jacksonville on Tuesday.
