ORLANDO — A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier faces drug charges after investigators say he was delivering cocaine that was shipped from Puerto Rico to Orlando.
Postal service investigators began watching 24-year-old Robert Hunt. Jr. last week. He was arrested Thursday on a federal drug charge.
The Orlando Sentinel reports inspectors found four parcels they suspected contained drugs at an Orlando processing center.
Court records show three packages had street addresses but not specific apartment numbers which alerted officials that they were likely going to be handed to someone during a mail carrier's route.
Investigators followed Hunt on Sept. 7 as he went to the apartment complex. When a car pulled up, Hunt took the parcels over to a man inside. They say the man gave Hunt $800.
