NAPLES — A house showing turned ugly in Naples Park when a resident attacked the homeowner with a knife Friday night, sheriff’s reports state.
Richard Sheeran, 53, of the 800 block of 95th Avenue North, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
The homeowner, 41, told Collier County deputies he was parked around 6 p.m. in the driveway of the home in which Sheeran was living. The man told deputies he recently bought the home that was in a “short sale” and the previous owners still occupied it, even though they had been served notice to vacate.
The man said he was planning to show the home to a potential buyer when Sheeran chased him with a knife. He said he entered his GMC Yukon and Sheeran cut a rear tire. The victim’s 39-year-old wife and 13-year-old son were inside the vehicle and witnessed the confrontation, deputies reported.
He told deputies he drove to a nearby business and called deputies, who arrested Sheeran at the home.
