Two critical after Saturday night crash in Collier

Two drivers remained in critical condition Sunday after a crash in Collier County late Saturday, troopers say.

Tonya M. Acevedo, 30, of Cape Coral was driving south in a northbound lane on State Road 29 north of Interstate 75 about 9:30 p.m. Her Cadillac SUV hit the front of a Pontiac Sunfire that Leyvany Jimenez Viciedo of Naples was driving in a northbound lane of State Road 29, Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported..

Acevedo's Cadillac then flipped on its left side before resting on a shoulder of the road. She was in critical condition at an NCH hospital.

Viciedo, 35, was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital, where he's also in critical condition from severe head injuries, FHP reported.

Arcenio Viciedo Ventura, 57, of Naples was a passenger in Viciedo's car and suffered minor injuries, reports stated.

Both occupants of the Sunfire were wearing seat belts and Acevedo was not, troopers said.
