Deputies investigate burglary spree in North Naples community

Collier County detectives are investigating an estimated two dozen burglaries that were reported Monday night at a North Naples condominium.

More than 20 garages showed signs of forced entry at Cypress Trace, a gated community near the intersection of Interstate 75 and Immokalee Road, according to reports.

Although many homeowners reported nothing was missing, others were not so lucky. Among the items stolen were a set of house keys, two BB guns and a $12,000 Hyundai SUV, reports said.

Detectives processed the scene for evidence, but no arrests had been made by Tuesday evening, according to a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

Suspect sought in hardware story theft

Naples police are looking for a man who stole a Craftsman wrench set from a hardware store earlier this month.

On Sept. 7 around 10 a.m., the man went into the Sunshine Ace Hardware store at 141 Ninth Street North. After a loss prevention employee noticed him taking the $80 wrench set, the man ran from the store.

In surveillance footage, the suspect is a white man with blond or gray hair, wearing sunglasses, a green or tan backpack and a shirt that appears to say "BEER COOLER."

Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to contact Detective Noe at 239-213-4828.
