NAPLES — LPGA Tour players got their final chance to qualify on U.S. soil for the CME Group Titleholders — which will be Nov. 13-18 at TwinEagles Club in Naples — over the weekend.
The tour heads to Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Mexico before coming back for the Titleholders. There are five events and 15 spots left.
Mi Jung Hur of South Korea, Sarah Jane Smith of Australia and Pernilla Lindberg of Sweden were the three qualifiers Sunday. Naples' Kris Tamulis tied for 12th among players who hadn't already qualified.
The tournament is in its second year in its current format. The top three in each tournament on the tour this year get into the Titleholders' elite field.

Everblades tournament for area youth: The Florida Everblades annual tournament and auction benefiting the Children's Organ Transplant Association in honor of Christian Hannett will be Sunday, Oct. 7 at The Colony Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs.
Hannett, 6, has metachromatic leukodystrophy, and received a bone-marrow transplant at Duke University Medical Center. An estimated $100,00 is being raised by Southwest Florida volunteers.
The entry fee is $150 per person, and each group will be paired with a current or former Everblades player or coach. Registration is at 11:30 a.m., with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, and awards presentation/dinner at 5:30 p.m. Sponsorships are available.

Naples Storm tournament: The inaugural event for the 12-and-under travel baseball team will be Saturday, Oct. 13 at Stonebridge Country Club. Funds will be used for the team to play in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational next summer.
