Rahn Emanuel’s “A crisis is a terrible thing to waste” seems to have become the popular mantra of former City Councilor John Arceri (as well as President Obama) whenever he graces our newspapers with observations and commentaries about his role in our city government’s past, present and future (Marco Eagle, Sept. 6 and 19).
In addition, he should remind “We the People” of Marco Island that, as Economist Milton Friedman lectured years ago, we now observe governments everywhere spending all of their time “grappling with, fighting about and undoing” that which they passed so quickly and unreasonably “using tax revenues and public debt quickly and haphazardly” in the past which, today, seems so “unnecessary, redundant and just plain wasteful, inefficient and extravagant.”

The parallels between the obama administration and the aceri administration are uncanny.
