Letter to the Editor: Rebuttal to John Arceri

How interesting, the shenanigans were of the then 2000 Marco City Council, to purchase the Florida Water Services (FWS). People who do not agree with Mr. Arceri are labeled negative or misinformed.

Many of us back then will not forget how the FWS utility was purchased. Today, we all pay and pay for this utility that is running the city into debt.

The Marco City Council then as well as today needs to be changed. We, the resident taxpayers, need our say and the vote (referendums) on all large bond issues. This is why we need to replace the incumbent councilors with Larry Sacher, Amadeo Petricca and Ken Honecker. These three men have the experience to represent the homeowners, condo owners and business owners.

If you were insulted by the sneaky method by which City Hall was named, by the less than ethical voting methods used in rhe past, by the accepted, glossed over lies by past councilors then a change is necessary. Remove the pupeteer's strings and vote for integrity and please, vote the slate above.

We need an honest, hard working, knowledgeable city council that represents all our island's citizens and not just a few who think they are more special than everyone else.

Mrs Enman: No surprise as to your LTE./ Just curious if you would list, in response, the "experience" you reference. Utility Boards and MITA are certainly not a part of the list as the Marco Island Property Owners Association would not be. So I am curious.
Not that existing Councilors have more or less other than the 4 years they have served.
Also, please let me know if you have read all the documentation available at City Hall regarding the Water Utility purchase, including the Engineer's Report, etc.
Just indicate when you want to meet at City Hall and I will join you and we can go over it together, line by line.
There should be no "hidden agenda" or mystery after you are done reading all the reports.
Look forward to meeting you in person at City Hall.
Just let me know the time, below, and will see you then. It probably will take 20-30 hours, in total, to review all the documents.

If citizens feel like they are getting a bang for their tax dollars and agree with city policies, then by all means vote for the slate endorsed by Ms. Watt.

But I am with Ms. Enman's recommendation, because this city encourages division as evidenced by recent creation of several civic organizations. A chairman that heralds "us vs them" not in his public comments but by his actions, after all he actually got a certain residential group to vote as a block under the seldom used bullet vote strategy. Thereby, exacerbating a division that could have been resolved without a costly cost of service study.

I have seen the chairman grimace, after certain comments made by the consultant, as he reviewed the assumptions and data, but were glossed over, i.e. reuse water cost of service evaluation which was NOT included, yet a rate established.

Pay attention, folks; the civic organizations especially recently organized civic organizations will come under attack by prominent members of council. These organizations will be portrayed by some on council as not acting in the best interest of the city. And will be portrayed as contributing to the division of "us vs them".

To them I say, these organizations reacted to a theme of "us vs them" implicitly laid out in years prior by pundits i.e. Mr. Arceri that claim the citizens are misinformed and institutionalized by Mr. Magel.

Really, MISINFORMED! Now that in itself should herald a rallying cry to reform this city. And to reform you must replace.

This is the time to vote, if you want excellence or at least the hope of a quality of life vision for residents to enjoy without the encumbrances of over sized public facilities or safety budgets that are transformed into gang related, felony pursuit programs to a fire boat to meet the needs of "us vs them", to a ROW standards that is geared to support an infrastructure which pits residents against the city, you need to support those who are willing to stand before prior councils to voice their concerns. And these candidates are seeking your support. Please support them, they are:

Mr. Amadeo Petricca
Mr. Ken Honecker
Mr. Larry Sacher

And their union is based on fiscal responsibility and open government. Is this really "us vs them"? If so, I am with them so they call leave us alone to enjoy a peaceful small tropical town atmosphere.

Does anyone know the truth to the questions regarding the incumbants. One has been rumored to no longer be living on Marco Island. One or more than one have been reported to have not yet paid their city and county taxes and at least one has been in foreclosure since 2009.

Are these the strings that are used to hold this island together using fiscal responsiblity and proper planning. I think not.

At least 3 were in some stage of foreclosure a while back.

Check the court records for current status:

However, the rumor of listing as a sexual predator is not true:

Thanks,

2 are listed on www.collierclerk.com as being either in forecloseure on what seems to be a residence and the other on what is listed as non-homestead property.

Are they paying their share of city taxes due on these properties or are the rest of us making up for their taxes which are presently owed to the city?

Just checked, no word from Mrs Enman as to when she wants to meet at City Hall to go over the factual and historical documents. She is the one who used ythe phrase "shenanigans".
I will keep checking, or you can e-mail me via the Eagle web site in response to this blog and I will get it.

Look forward to meeting you !!!!!!

No hidden agenda? Why will the council not talk about the pending settlement of a businesses lawsuit? Why will they not tell the public about the return of a fired employee who will be also getting back pay? Why are these issues being held til after the election?
