An Immokalee man is behind bars after deputies say he pulled a fire alarm at a bar early Sunday.

A manager at Azteca Bar, 208 W. Main St., told Collier County sheriff’s deputies there were about 150 people inside the bar when the fire alarm went off around 12:47 a.m. The bar had to be evacuated and the Immokalee fire department was called to the scene, according to an arrest report.

A witness said he saw Marcelino Patihstan, 24, walk to the alarm, grab the plastic casing and pull the alarm before hearing the alarm sounding off. Deputies confronted Patihstan, who smelled strongly of alcohol and did not want to answer questions, according to reports.

The manager said it would cost about $350 to $750 to replace the alarm’s plastic casing. Patihstan was taken to the Immokalee Jail Center to face a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief.
