Detectives are looking for a man suspected of shooting and injuring his girlfriend Wednesday in East Naples.

Collier County sheriff’s deputies found the victim on the side of the road near Marie Lane and Radio Road, according to a news release. She told them her live-in boyfriend, Candido Ezequiel Martinez-Jimenez, pulled out a .32-caliber handgun, shot her three times and ran away, following an argument at a home on the first block of Dewey Court.

The woman was hospitalized to be treated for a gunshot wound to her left shoulder, deputies reported.

Martinez-Jimenez, who had blood on his foot, was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans. Detectives believe he is driving a white 1993 Chevrolet pickup with Florida license plate 371NGN, or a gray 2001 Chevrolet four-door vehicle with Florida license plate M178VY.

Anyone with information on Martinez-Jimenez’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 239-252-9300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward.
