SW Florida weather: Today likely warmest day of week

You could run into some patchy fog, Wednesday morning, but the fog scenario shouldn't be nearly as bad as Monday and Tuesday.

Interstate 75’s Alligator Alley remains open today, but the Florida Highway Patrol advises motorists to use caution when traveling the east-west highway because of the possibility for fog and smoke from the Big Cypress National Preserve wildfire.

The morning low clouds and fog will quickly give way to mostly sunny skies shortly after sunrise. It will be another warm day across Southwest Florida with afternoon high temperatures reaching into the upper 80s, making this likely the warmest day of the week.

A sea breeze this afternoon will cool off the beaches and stir up a stray shower in the inland areas, but most of Southwest Florida will stay dry. Another storm system, headed our way from the northwest, will be here by late Thursday into Friday.
