Why is our money going out and not coming in?
The other day I went to purchase items at the Marco Island Farmers Market. Driving over to the market, there must have been more people who needed to get there before me. Going to and coming back I counted 13 drivers who just did not feel they needed to stop for posted stop signs. Most of them drove through as if there was no stop sign at all.
Then the posted speed limit signs might as well not be posted. Drivers were passing me as if I were standing still and racing people to the crosswalks. I was driving within the speed limit.
I often wonder where are the law enforcement people?
Then, while I was walking around the farmers market, I found my answer. There were two law enforcement vehicles parked at the market and four law enforcement officers walking around the market. I wasn’t aware we had any major law violations at the market.
In my opinion we were wasting taxpayers’ money on law enforcement and nothing coming in from the traffic violations.
