College baseball: Ave Maria scores 17 in doubleheader

The Ave Maria baseball team blasted Webber International University for 17 runs in its two doubleheader wins on Saturday.

The Gyrenes won Game 1, 11-1, with a scoring flurry and came out victiourious in another high-scoring performance, 6-1, in Game 2.

The win puts Ave Maria in a tie with Webber for thrid place in the Sun Conference.

The Gyrenes will conclude the high-scoring series against Webber on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Bowie’s Ballpark.
