An East Naples man’s plan to steal his ex-girlfriend’s TV was foiled Tuesday when her neighbors saw him go inside the home and called for help, according to an arrest report.

Around 4 p.m., two men who live on the 4700 block of Dorando Drive said they saw Steve Allan Douglas, 28, by their neighbor’s door. When one of the men ran across the street to tell Douglas to leave, he said he saw his neighbor’s TV had been removed from its stand.

Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrived to the home and arrested Douglas, who faces charges of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and attempted grand theft.

As of Wednesday, Douglas, of the 4100 block of Dale Avenue, remained at the Naples Jail Center in lieu of bonds totaling $10,000.
