Fort Myers man killed in San Carlos Park rollover wreck

A Fort Myers man was killed early Thursday in a crash in San Carlos Park.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Philip Michael Rowe, 29, was driving north on Matanzas Road when he struck a Jeep that was properly parked in a private driveway. Rowe's Toyota SUV overturned and came to rest on its roof around 3:15 a.m., according to an FHP report.

Rowe was not wearing a seat belt, troopers reported. Officials have not yet ruled out the possibility that alcohol was a factor in the crash and are awaiting the results of a blood-alcohol test.

No one else was injured in the crash.
