Collier deputies arrested a third suspect in a marijuana grow house operation as he visited his two co-defendants in the case Wednesday at the Naples Jail Center.

Detectives said Roy Diaz, 38, was visiting siblings Pamela and Marco Lainez. The Lainezes have been in jail since April 2, the day detectives executed a search warrant at their Golden Gate Estates home and found 165 marijuana plants worth an estimated $495,000, according to an arrest report.

Other rooms in the home, 288 14th Ave. N.E., contained high-intensity light bulbs, 29 high-power transformers and two air conditioning units to keep the marijuana plants cool, deputies reported.

Detectives on Monday identified fingerprints on the $30,000 grow equipment as belonging to Diaz. An arrest report said Diaz has previously been arrested for marijuana trafficking in Miami.

Diaz, of Miami, faces charges of trafficking marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. As of Thursday, he was being held at the Naples Jail Center on bonds totaling $260,000.
