SW Florida weather: Record highs continue today

It was a record-breaking day across Southwest Florida, as Tuesday's high of 94 degrees broke the old record of 92 for this date set back in 1945. Our summer-like heat will continue over the next few days, with relief in the form of some cooling rains arriving by the weekend.

Temperatures will start off rather warm in the upper 60s to lower 70s and will climb quickly as we head into the afternoon hours. Daytime highs will once again be in record territory as they soar into the lower 90s. Rain prospects today will be at a minimum, however with plenty of heat and humidity a couple of stray downpours can't be ruled out closer to the coast.

Evening temperatures will be quite warm, as they slowly fall into the middle 80s under mostly clear skies. By morning, temperatures will settle into the upper 60s with a light breeze.
