FHP: Charges pending in alcohol-related crash on I-75 in North Naples

— Charges are pending in a Wednesday night crash on Interstate 75 in North Naples that Florida Highway Patrol reports is alcohol related.

James Raymond Plyler, 36, of Naples was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer southbound in the outside lane of I-75 when he rear-ended a 2001 Chevrolet Express 1500 van driven by Ignazio Gadaleta, 37, also of Naples, FHP reports.

Plyler was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries from the crash, which occurred about 8:20 p.m. at mile marker 113 of the interstate. Neither the driver of the second vehicle nor a passenger in his van was injured in the crash.

All charges are pending Plyler's blood alcohol content results, according to the FHP report.

The crash was the first of three Wednesday night on I-75 in North Naples.

A second crash occurred near mile marker 112 about 10 p.m., Collier County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Michelle Batten said. Two people were transported to the hospital from that crash.

A third, minor crash also occurred around 10 p.m. near mile marker 111, the Immokalee Road exit.
