The King’s Academy defeated St. John Neumann, 16-0, in a Class 3A regional quarterfinal on Wednesday.
“Although this was by far the toughest loss of our season, we will take this experience and grow,” Celtics coach Andrea Peterson said. “The lesson our team learned today will enable us to be a stronger team in 2014. The coaching staff is committed to working with the returning 16 players. Our St. John Neumann family stood beside the team throughout the season, and we are very proud of the team growth. Today we realized the distance we must travel, the increase of intensity in performance required, and we realize we must do these things to extend further into regional play in 2014. I speak for the whole team when I say thank you to our parents, friends and students for all the support this season. Plus good luck to our senior, Hope Owen.”
