Deputies: East Naples woman impersonates family member, sticks them with bills

An East Naples woman faces a fraud charge for impersonating a family member and leaving that person with two hospital bills, each worth hundreds of dollars.

Savanna Andrea Santos, 20, of the 0 block of Isle of St. Thomas, East Naples, was arrested Thursday by Collier deputies at her home.

Back in March, Santos gave her relative’s name when taken to an area hospital after deputies determined she and another man were having drug hallucinations, the arrest report said.

Santos’ relative later received the hospital bills – one for $617 and another for $700 – and called police to tell them she suspected that Santos used her personal information without permission, deputies said.

Santos admitted to deputies that she gave her relative’s name to them last month because she did not want to get in trouble for driving without a license, and then used the name again at the hospital because she figured she needed to provide the same information, the arrest report said.
