Miami man en route to Naples party crashes on I-75
A Miami man was jailed following a three-car crash Saturday night on Interstate 75.
Marcelo Alberto Segoria Barahona, 32, was arrested by Florida Highway Patrol troopers at I-75 near mile marker 100. He faces charges of DUI, property damage and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
A witness told troopers Segoria Barahona’s blue car was driving north on the interstate at high speeds when it struck a white van, an FHP report said.
Segoria Barahona and his passenger were transported to an area hospital, and while he was there, Segoria Barahona told troopers he recently became part owner of a Coconut Grove bar and was driving in a hurry to get to his friend’s house in Naples to continue celebrating, the report said.
Shoplifting leads to grand theft auto arrest, police say
A man who was arrested on retail theft also faces charges stemming from the theft of an SUV stolen from a Naples car lot earlier this month.
Roberto Rafael Jolly, 49, of the 600 block of North Eighth Street, Naples, was arrested Friday by Naples police near the 200 block of South Eighth Street. He faces petty theft and grand theft auto charges.
Land Rover Naples security footage showed a man wearing dark clothing and carrying a large black backpack walking into the service bays of the dealership, but he was never seen exiting, a report said.
Instead, a white Land Rover Freelander was seen driving out of the service bay, the report said.
Friday, officers picked Jolly up on a retail theft that occurred on Central Avenue, and police said he would not provide identification.
However, a detective at the scene recognized Jolly from the security footage and, upon his arrival to the Naples police station, Jolly was interviewed and questioned, the report said.
Jolly later told officers he was at the Land Rover dealership to buy a vehicle but blacked out and couldn’t remember, the report said.
Nicolette Ann Chouinard, 20, of the 9000 block of Luna Circle, North Naples, was arrested Saturday by Collier deputies near the intersection of Airport-Pulling Road and Nottingham Drive.
Mahendra Patel, 56, of Le Mans Drive, East Naples, was arrested by Naples police Saturday near the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue South.
Nina M. Westphal, 64, of Point Pleasant, NJ, was arrested by Collier deputies near the intersection of Airport-Pulling and Kraft roads.
Domestic violence arrests
Timothy Sean Strahan, 48, of the 3000 block of Areca Avenue, East Naples, was arrested Friday by Collier deputies at home. He is accused of violating a domestic violence no contact order.
Anthony John Nadotti, 22, of the 3000 block of Tortuga Way, East Naples, was arrested Friday by Collier deputies. He is accused of grabbing a woman by her hair and slamming her face into the floor.
Adrian Olivares, 24, of Tampa, was arrested Friday by Collier deputies in the 5000 block of Hemmingway Lane. He faces a felony charge of possession a controlled substance.
Richard Harry Vantol, 37, of the 3000 block of Northeast 16th Avenue, Golden Gate Estates, was arrested Friday by Collier deputies near the intersection of Collier Boulevard and Fifth Avenue Southwest. He faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Barbara Jackson, 42, of the 3000 block of Loblolly Bay Drive, East Naples, was arrested Saturday by Marco Island police near the 300 block of North Collier Boulevard. She faces a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance.
Devote Jovan Lindsey, 21, of Gainesville, was arrested Saturday by Collier deputies near the 800 block of Immokalee Road. He faces felony charges of possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana and possessing with intent to sell.
David Daniels, 21, of the 100 block of Cypress Way East, North Naples, was arrested Saturday by Collier deputies near the 800 block of Immokalee Road. He faces a felony charge of trafficking 10 grams or more of phenethylamines.
Carry a concealed firearm
Yusniel Rodriguez Gamon, 24, of the 1700 block of 52nd Terrace, East Naples, was arrested Saturday by Collier deputies near the intersection of Immokalee and Airport-Pulling roads. He faces a charge of carrying a concealed firearm.
Damian Perez Garcia, 40, of the 4000 Southwest Block of Eighth Street, Lehigh Acres, was arrested Friday by Collier deputies in the 5000 block of U.S. 41 N. He faces felony charges of illegal use of credit cards, grand theft and possessing a likeness of a driver’s license.
