The systemwide precautionary boil water notice issued April 30 for the FGUA Golden Gate system is no longer in effect.
All biological testing samples were negative and, therefore, you may resume water usage as normal. The samples were analyzed by a state certified laboratory that confirmed the drinking water is safe to drink.
The FGUA would like to apologize for any inconvenience customers may have experienced during this time and thank them for their patience during the precautionary boil water period.
For additional information, FGUA customers may contact the FGUA Golden Gate Systems customer service office at 239-455-1583, or visit the FGUA web site at www.fgua.com.
Boil water notice issued for Golden Gate
A system wide precautionary boil water notice advisory was given Tuesday afternoon to FGUA Golden Gate Utility System customers.
A 10-inch service main break at 2715 44th St. caused pressures to drop.
Service lines were repaired and samples of the water were taken to a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory.
The notice will be lifted once samples show the water is safe to drink.
• Bring water to a rolling boil for 1 minute.
• Allow the water to cool before using.
• Store the cooled water in a clean container with a cover.
Customers should use boiled water that has cooled or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing food and baby formula, making ice or giving it to pets.
