A persistent westerly flow has kept our weather hot and humid with showers and storms aiming deep inland during the day. By the middle of the week, we'll be tracking a pattern shift with mainly afternoon storms closer to the coast.

Tuesday will start off warm and muggy with temperatures near 80 degrees in some spots. A couple of stray showers can't be ruled out along coastal areas this morning during the pre-dawn hours, however the vast majority of the region will stay dry. Through the day, expect temperatures to climb into the low 90s, while storms increase coverage across Southwest Florida. The only difference today is some of the rain areas will be a bit closer to the Interstate 75 and urban corridors late in the day and through the evening.

Once we lose sunshine, any rain leftover will quickly diminish. Overnight, our skies will clear nicely and temperatures will settle into the middle to upper 70s.
