Sun and storms expected this weekend

Our weekend weather will feature an abundance of sun and heat, and as we often see this time of year, some afternoon and evening storms.

Once the atmosphere becomes energized enough by the mid to late afternoon, showers and storms will begin popping up, particularly over locations closer to coast and out to I-75. Storms will be scattered or hit-or-miss in nature, and a few of today's storms will be capable of producing strong winds and torrential rain that may total 2-3 inches in localized spots.

A couple storms may linger well into the evening, but our sky will gradually become clear and quiet overnight as temperatures slowly cool into the mid 70s by Sunday morning.
