Two seriously injured in Golden Gate crash

One person is in critical condition and another suffered serious injuries following a crash in Golden Gate Wednesday afternoon.

Around 12:40 p.m., troopers said an eastbound Ford F-250 failed to stop at a red light at Golden Gate Parkway and 44th Street Southwest. The truck hit a Ford Taurus that was heading north on 44th Street Southwest to make a left turn onto Golden Gate Parkway, according to a crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The truck's driver, 60-year-old Michael Earl Crabtree of the Naples area, was taken to Naples Community Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Taurus, 80-year-old Christine Angela Nunes, also of the Naples area, was taken to Physicians Regional Hospital in critical condition.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash, according to the report.

Troopers said charges were pending in the crash.
