The August rainy season pattern continues today. In fact, it will continues through the weekend and even into next week.
We'll start each morning with a good amount of sunshine. There will be plenty of heat and humidity. Morning lows will be in the mid 70s and afternoon highs will reach into the lower 90s. Heat index values each afternoon will climb to nearly 100 degrees.
The location of the afternoon downpours will be dependent upon where the sea breeze is each day. Thursday, the sea breeze will be stuck pretty close to the coast. That means there will be a few downpours anywhere in Southwest Florida, but a lot of the afternoon storm activity will impact places from near the Interstate 75 corridor and westward toward the coastline. You can expect heavy downpours, gusty winds and plenty of thunder and lightning with today's storms.
