We've got a classic summer day on the way across Southwest Florida featuring plenty of sunshine, heat, humidity, and numerous afternoon storms.
The vast majority of the rain will hold off until after lunch, so if you have anything you need to do outdoors, it's probably best to get it done early before the storms develop. Some of today's storms may be strong, packing gusty winds, excessive lighting, and torrential rain. A few storms may even linger well into the evening before finally fading later tonight after 10 p.m.
Before the storms get going, we're on track to see ample sunshine as well as plenty of heat and humidity. Temperatures in most spots across Southwest Florida will heat up to the low 90s until the summer rain cools us down into the 80s and even 70s by the evening.
