Marco police conduct death investigation

— At approximately 1:21 p.m., Thursday, the Marco Island Police and Fire Rescue Departments were dispatched to 1200 Edington Place reference an unresponsive 43-year-old male located in a parked vehicle.

According to a news release from the Marco Police Department, Fire/Rescue and EMS personnel subsequently transported the unresponsive male subject to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“The Marco Island Police Department immediately began a death investigation pertaining to the circumstances of the death and will be consulting with the District 20 Medical Examiner who will conduct a parallel investigation,”

according to the release.

What I would like to know is why we never see a follow-up to these death investigations. Off the top of my head I can name about 8 deaths in the last year and a half and don't see a follow-up as to cause of death. Reporters aren't following up and the city probably likes it that way.
