About two dozen people gathered in Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers Saturday to voice opposition to U.S. involvement in the Syrian conflict.

The group held signs with messages like “This is not our war” and “No war with Syria.”

“Stay out of it. It’s none of our business,” said Tim Heuschling of Fort Myers. “Who made us the police of the world? That’s what it gets down to. My tax dollars. Let’s spend the money here at home.”
