Average retail gasoline prices in Naples have risen 9.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.61 per gallon Sunday, according to a daily survey of 94 gas outlets in Naples by gasbuddy.com.
Gas prices Sunday in Naples were 6.5 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and were 16 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
The local prices compare with the national average that has increased 14.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.48 per gallon, according to the website. The national average has increased 21.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 4.4 cents per gallon higher than one year ago.
"The national average has ticked higher in the last week, as rising oil prices have put upward pressure on gasoline prices," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for gasbuddy.com. "Unfortunately for angry motorists, there doesn't seem to be much relief in sight, at least for the time being, as retail prices continue to climb in virtually all areas of the country."
