The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International recently honored The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, and Naples Golf resorts with a Platinum Adrian Award in Digital Marketing excellence for their Facebook campaign.

Ritz-Carlton officials received the honor at the 56th annual Adrian Awards in New York City.

The competition is recognized as one of the most prestigious advertising, public relations, and digital marketing competitions, honoring creative excellence in hospitality, travel and tourism-related marketing.

Bank hosts document shredding event

Residents and small business owners are invited to dispose of old bank statements, checks, contracts, junk mail and other documents in a safe and secure manner. Alico Inc. forms committee

Fort Myers-based Alico Inc., a grower and land manager, has formed a special committee of independent directors to explore working cooperatively with Atlantic Blue Group, which has announced it plans to sell its entire equity position in Alico.

Atlantic Blue, a holder of 50.6 percent of Alico's common stock, has said it will pursue the potential sale of substantially all of its assets this year because of recent tax code changes related to subchapter S corporations like itself.

The special committee will work with the Lake Wales-based Atlantic Blue to investigate all transaction possibilities and to protect the interests of all shareholders, using the help of financial and legal advisers. Atlantic Blue is a real estate management, acquisition and development company.
