The Florida Gulf Coast University men's golf team opened its spring season in thirteenth place with a team score of 626 at the Sea Best Invitational in Jacksonville on Monday.
Freshman Jake Sherwin shot a team-best 154 for the Eagles. Junior Matt Cote shot the lowest round of the day, 74, for the Eagles.
Tennessee leads the pack with a score of 579 heading into day two of the Sea Best Invitational, which will resume on Tuesday. The Eagles will tee off at 9:20 a.m. with Charleston Southern and USC Upstate.
