FHP on lookout for tractor trailer involved in hit-and-run

The Florida Highway Patrol is attempting to identify the driver of a tractor trailer who struck another vehicle Tuesday night on Interstate 75, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The tractor trailer was traveling north in the outside lane of I-75 just north of Bonita Beach Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday when it veered left and crossed the center line, according to a news release. The left rear trailer tire collided with right side of a 2005 Acura RSX, which was also driving north.

The Acura driver, Amy Elizabeth Styles, 30, of Collier County, lost control of the car, which traveled into the median and overturned, reports said. The tractor trailer continued traveling north.

Styles, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the tractor trailer or its driver is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.
