ST. PETERSBURG — Officials say a member of the U.S. Marshals Service was wounded when the officer's gun discharged during training at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office shooting range.
The sheriff's office reports that marshals were training at the St. Petersburg range Wednesday morning when one marshal suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper leg.
The marshal was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Officials didn't identify the marshal.
