Deputies: Stabbing victim robbed, possibly sexually assaulted

A woman stabbed Thursday in Golden Gate was the victim of a robbery, and possibly a sexual assault, Collier County sheriff's officials said Friday.

The condition of and information about the woman, who was flown to Lee Memorial Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, wasn't available Friday. Deputies are still searching for the suspect, described as a 5-foot-5-inch white male, 20 to 30 years old with short blond hair and a thin build.

Deputies received a call at about 8:05 p.m. Thursday of a stabbing near the 4600 block of 31st Avenue Southwest. A canvass of the area involving K-9 and aviation units didn't turn up the suspect.

An incident report detailing the stabbing is heavily redacted because of the possible sexual assault, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said. Officials wouldn't say whether the victim knew the suspect.
