One arrested in Estates grow house seizure
Collier County sheriff's deputies made an arrest Friday in connection with a grow house operation in Golden Gate Estates, seizing $35,000 of marijuana plants, sheriff's officials said.
Angie Lynette Arcia, 25, of the 1000 block of 52nd Street SW, was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession with intent to sell. She also was charged with making a false statement to law enforcement officers.
An arrest report said that on Tuesday, officers with the sheriff's narcotics bureau served a search warrant at the suspect's residence and found a marijuana-growing operation inside the single-car garage, in the living room and in one of the bedrooms.
Deputies said they found high-intensity lights, reflective material on the walls and a digital scale. In a third bedroom, children's toys were found and deputies said they learned the suspect's 9-year-old and an infant lived with her.
She initially told officers she no longer lived at the residence that was leased in her boyfriend's name, the arrest report said.
■ Jose Antonio Palacios, 33, of the 300 block of Sixth Street S. in Immokalee, was arrested Thursday by sheriff's deputies on Colorado Avenue in Immokalee, and charged with a felony level of driving with a license suspended or revoked, and a drug-related offense. He was stopped when deputies said they saw he had a child in the rear of the car without a seat belt on, according to an arrest report. The deputy said he could smell marijuana coming from the window and marijuana buds were found in a backpack next to the child, the report said.
Burglary and grand theft arrests
■ Renee Whitt Smith, 49, of the 1100 block of North Collier Boulevard, was arrested by Marco Island police on Friday and accused of forgery. A business owner in December reported to Marco police that the suspect, a former employee, had stolen and deposited two checks, one for $250 and the other for $750, into her account, an arrest report shows. When Smith was questioned, she denied taking the checks, the report shows.
■ Damien Medina, 32, of the 1000 block of 39th Street SW in Golden Gate Estates, was arrested Friday by sheriff's deputies and accused of burglary of an unoccupied residence, dealing in stolen property and grand theft, according to an arrest report. Sheriff's deputies said they responded to a call at the residence where the victim said the suspect was a longtime friend and he had stolen jewelry valued at $1,800 from the victim's wife, the report said.
■ John Michael Buss, 37, who is listed as homeless in Bonita Springs, was arrested Thursday by Collier sheriff's deputies in the 80 block of Seventh Street in Bonita Shores and accused of grand theft, a drug-related offense and occupying a house that was vacant. When questioned by deputies, he admitted to having a syringe in his possession for shooting narcotics and admitted to recently committing a theft in which he stole several pieces of jewelry belonging to a friend who lived nearby, an arrest report said. He had pawned the jewelry for $200, according to reports
■ Two people were arrested by Naples police Friday in the 800 block of Harbour Drive in Naples in connection with the burglary of an unoccupied home in the 1000 block of Diana Avenue and grand theft. Arrested were Leslie Yolanda Lopez, 39, of Lehigh Acres, and Isamel Zamora, 57, of Miami, according to sheriff's reports. Deputies said they learned that a home on Diana Avenue had been burglarized and ransacked, with jewelry valued at $3,300 reported stolen.
Domestic violence arrests
■ Justin Shamar Stready, 26, of the 2000 block of 47th Terrace SW in Golden Gate Estates, was arrested Friday in the 8000 block of Dilip Lane after he was accused of punching his girlfriend.
■ Anton Jacobson, 50, of the 200 block of 23rd Street SW in Golden Gate Estates, was arrested on Thursday at his residence. He is accused of pushing his wife in the kitchen after snatching her cell phone from her.
■ Brett Michael Cihlar, 36, of the 300 block of Newport Drive, East Naples, was arrested Thursday and accused of attacking a neighbor, who had complained to the homeowner's association about the suspect not cleaning up after his dog went on the grass. The suspect, who was in a wheelchair, and the victim confronted each other outside, an arrest report said. The victim told deputies he put his leg out to stop the suspect from approaching him in the wheelchair but the suspect jumped up from the wheelchair and attacked him. The suspect said he used the wheelchair sometimes when he has trouble walking, the report said.
■ Pamela Tulloch, 48, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested Friday in the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue S. in Naples.
