ACE GROUP CLASSIC: Everything on schedule for first round

NAPLES — Everything is on schedule for today's first round of the ACE Group Classic at TwinEagles Club.

Rain washed out Thursday's afternoon pro-am midway through. Tournament director Lesley Baker said in a text that 2.1 inches of rain in total fell Thursday. A quarter of an inch of that came down Thursday morning.

Baker said there have been no changes as far as parking after checking the volunteer lot, and the public lot. The latter is at the Collier County Fairgrounds east of the golf course on Immokalee Road.

The forecast for afternoon storms has changed overnight, but there still is a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain as the day goes on.

Golfers will play through the rain as long as there is no lightning, or there is so much rain that the course becomes unplayable.

Daily tickets are $30 and weekly tickets are $60, and are available at TwinEagles or the PGA Tour Superstore, which is on U.S. 41 just west of Coastland Center mall.
