A 28-year-old woman is in critical condition after a Friday night crash involving a Florida Highway Patrol trooper.
Crystal Crawford-McClure, of North Fort Myers, was ejected from the jeep she was riding in after a trooper crashed into it, according to the FHP report.
Trooper Gustavo Reyes, 47, was driving in the southbound center lane of Interstate 75 near mile-marker 134 around 9 p.m. when, according to the crash report, he struck the back side of the jeep, also in the center lane.
At impact, the jeep driven by Christopher McClure, 29, veered off the interstate into the grassy shoulder and overturned. Both Christopher McClure and Crystal Crawford-McClure were ejected from the jeep, according to the crash report.
Christopher McClure suffered only minor injuries, according to the report.
A 1-year-old, also Christopher McClure, was in the backseat of the jeep in a child restraint and suffered only minor injuries.
Lee Memorial Hospital officials said tonight there is no patient by that name listed at its trauma center hospital in Fort Myers. FHP officials couldn't be reached for further information; the accident report stated that is where she is hospitalized.
