A Fort Myers man has been found guilty on two counts of second-degree murder in an August 2010 double-homicide in Bonita Springs.

Dustin McIntyre, 23, faces life in prison following his conviction Tuesday afternoon in a Lee County courtroom. McIntyre and a few accomplices beat and asphyxiated to death Daniel Leonor, 24, and Israel Ponce, 20, during a drug deal. Their charred bodies were discovered in a burning SUV on a rural Lee County road.

Two other defendants leading the beatings have already arranged plea agreements, with sentencing scheduled for March 11.

Lisandro Resendiz, 23, pleaded guilty in October 2012 to manslaughter with a weapon and second-degree arson. He faces up to 30 years in prison on the manslaughter charge.

Colton Lance, 22, pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact of a life felony and battery causing bodily harm. The accessory after the fact count involves a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
