2nd Annual Fair on Marco begins tonight

The long anticipated 2nd Annual Fair on Marco is this weekend.

The Three-day event is at Veterans Park here on Marco Island.

The fair benefits the Greater Marco Family YMCA and Marco Island Charter Middle School.

Fair admission is $5 for adults per day, with kids 12 and under free with paid adult admission. Re-entry hand stamps will also be available and are color coded for each day of the event.

The fair will feature various amusement rides like a Ferris Wheel, The Rave-Up, Swings, The Gator, a 120-foot slide, the famous Castle Mania and more!.

The rides are for all ages. An ‘All You Can Ride” wristband is available for $25 per day. Single tickets will be available for sale for $1 each.

Games in the ride area include Fishy Fish, Duck Pond, Darts/Balloons and the Cork Gun.

Food booths include Nacho Mama’s, with tasty Mexican Foods plus refreshing Margarita’s for adults, Beach Dogs will be serving their well-known hot dogs, walking tacos and giant pretzels, St. Matthews House will be catering pulled pork sliders and Southwestern Slaw.

The YMCA and the Charter Middle School will have pizza, pasta, a bake sale, sno-cones and pre-packed concessions for sale.

Beer and wine is available for adults.

The games this year will include an obstacle course, rock wall, 24-foot double slide, sand art, Hi-Stryker, ball toss, ring toss, corn hole, color wheel, duck pond and tot bowling. This year the fair will feature pony rides and a custom photo booth. There is a small charge for all games.

Parking for the fair is available around Veterans Park and preferred parking is also available for a $5 donation. Handling the parking duties will be MICMS Sports on Friday, Noontime Rotary on Saturday and American Cancer Society on Sunday.

The Community Blood Center Bloodmobile will be set up in the parking lot of Community Church of God on Elkcam Circle from noon to 3 p.m. When you visit the fair, please visit the bloodmobile. Successful blood donors will receive a McDonald’s Gift Card.

Kriger Orthodontics has generously underwritten the stage entertainment schedule, which includes entertainment throughout the weekend.

When entering the fair be sure to get your ticket to take to the Kriger Orthodontics booth where you will have the chance to take a spin on the Wheel of Chance and win prizes.

Today’s Stage Schedule:

5 p.m.-Fair Opens- Presentation of the Colors by VFW Color Guard.

5:05 p.m.- National Anthem by Christina Giordano.

5:15 p.m.- Marco Island Charter Middle School Jazz Band.

6 p.m.- Marco Island Charter Middle School STARZ Singers.

6:30 p.m.- Island Dance Academy.

7 p.m.-Shane Totten & Friends (Pop and traditional music).

8 p.m.- Video Dance party with Island Paradise DJ Steve Reynolds.

Saturday:

11 a.m.- Fair Opens.

11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Frank Corso & Spoonful (Country & Blues.)

1 to 3 p.m.- Official Outcome- (Pop-Country- Rock).

3 p.m.- Tantrum (Classic Rock).

6 p.m.-(ZZ Top Tribute Band) Trezz Hombres.

9 p.m.- Stage Closes.

Sunday:

11 a.m.- Fair opens.

11 a.m.-12 p.m.- 60’s and 70’s Oldies Dance Party with Island Paradise DJ Steve Reynolds.

12 p.m.- Gary & Kerri (Country Rock & Blues).

3 p.m.- The Lords of Cool (Classic hits of the 60’s, 70’s and the 80’s)

6 p.m.- Fair Closes

Saturday Afternoon Special Entertainment Schedule

BINGO for Adults- doors open at noon, games begin at 1 p.m.- One BINGO card packet is $14 and 2 BINGO card packets are $22. There will be cash prizes for the BINGO winners.

BINGO for Kids- 3-4 p.m.; 5 games for $3 fee. Each game winner will receive 25 tickets to use at the fair.

Kids Activity Area- Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Kids are invited to take part in activities like Tug O War, Water Balloon Toss, Potato Sack Races and a Hula Hoop Contest.

Organizers thank the major event sponsors: The Naples Daily News, Marco Eagle and the Marriott Resort & Spa. Also, thanks goes out to the army of volunteers who have donated their time to this great event.
