Collier County detectives are investigating a student’s report of sexual assault that happened in early January.
On Friday, a guidance counselor with the Collier County School District reported the assault. The student, who reports identified as between 12 and 15, said she was playing a game of cops and robbers when she and the assailant became alone in a room.
The assailant hit her with a belt and told her not to leave, then raped her, according to an incident report.
As of Thursday, no one had been arrested in connection with the assault.
