A 22-year-old Golden Gate Estates man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on charges that he molested a 5-year-old girl and forced her to perform oral sex in 2009.
Adrian Perez, of the 3200 block of 45th Street Northeast, pleaded no contest Wednesday to a sexual battery charge stemming from the abuse, which occurred once inside a home.
Perez was a 19-year-old Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology student at the time of his arrest. The Daily News is withholding the victim’s relation to Perez to protect her identity.
Perez initially denied the abuse allegations and agreed to take a polygraph test. But before the test, Perez confessed to investigators, apologizing for the abuse.
The plea agreement came on the day Perez’s lawyers were scheduled to argue against the use of hearsay statements from the 5-year-old, saying there is “no collaborative evidence of abuse or offense,” according to a motion.
Perez has been in jail since his August 2009 arrest.
