A Golden Gate Estates man who was already in the Collier county jail is accused of attacking a cellmate by wiping hair-removing gel on his face.
Brantly Donald Holliday, 23, of the 2300 block of 8th Street Southeast, is charged with felony battery on a detained person after the other inmate reported the attack.
The 23-year-old victim, who has a mustache and beard, told deputies that Holliday had been harassing him since he arrived on Dec. 7, but “crossed the line” Dec. 20, when he put Nair on his face while he was sleeping. He said he was able to wash it off before his facial hair was removed, but some of the chemical got in his eye, irritating it.
Deputies said surveillance video confirmed Holliday putting the substance on the inmate’s face with a towel while another inmate acted as a lookout.
